Known as the Akeidah, this was the final test of Avraham’s faith in G-d. Yitzchak, then 36 years old, went willingly with his 137-year-old father to what may have been his death. An angel of the Lord stopped Avraham at the last moment, and Yitzchak lived to become the second patriarch of the nation of Israel.
