“And G-d took man and placed him in Gan Eden to work in it and guard it.” Bereshet/Genesis 2:15

The Garden of Eden, the lush and floral paradise described in the Torah. It was a place of incredible beauty and spiritual perfection where The Lord made every kind of fruitful tree to grow, including the Tree of Life, and the Tree of Knowledge.

My painting attempts to capture the pure and enclosed, whole, and holy environment from which humankind was banished, only to work on being worthy enough to return. In the center of the work is the letter Gimel, the first letter of "Gan Eden," bursting out of yellow-green petals, filling the garden with G-d's presence.
